Counters

Add Counter to plan

Counters are used to trigger an action after a predefined threshold is reached. Counters can be used to block or throttle an endpoint when the daily or monthly value has been reached.

1. After adding the Benefit, click Counter to add a Counter to the rate plan. Refer to the following screen.

2. Click Add New Counter to add Counter to the Rate plan. Refer to the following screen.

3. After clicking the button, the following screen is displayed.

4. Enter or select the following information in the corresponding fields. Fields marked with "|" are mandatory.

Field

Description

Counter

Select the Counter type in the drop-down list. For example Daily or Monthly
Daily_Data – Select Daily to reset the counter daily
Monthly _Data– Select Monthly to reset the counter monthly

Daily_NB-IOT – Select Daily to reset the counter daily
Monthly _NB-IOT– Select Monthly to reset the counter monthly

Threshold Value

Enter the threshold value for the counter

Threshold Unit

Select the threshold unit in the drop-down list. For example, Bytes, KB, and MB.

Frequency

The frequency period is auto-populated based on the counter selected.
When you select "Daily" as counter, the frequency is auto-populated as Daily
When you select "Monthly" as counter, the frequency is auto-populated as Monthly

Frequency Factor

Enter the frequency factor for the counter.
When you enter frequency factor as 2, selected counter as daily, threshold value as 100, and selected Threshold unit as MB, the counter is triggered once every two days when the threshold of 100 MB is reached

Action

Indicates the action triggered when the threshold limit for the counter is reached.
Block – Blocks the data connectivity
Default – Allows the user to browse without any loss in data speed. User is charged for out of bound data usage
Redirect – For example, the endpoint is redirected to an online web portal where the endpoint needs to buy an Addon plan to continue browsing
Throttle_256 Kbps – Reduces the data speed to 256 Kbps
Throttle_384 Kbps – Reduces the data speed to 384 Kbps
Throttle_512 Kbps – Reduces the data speed to 512 Kbps

 

5. After entering the details, click ADD .Refer to the following screen.

6. After clicking Add, the following screen is displayed.

On the counter screen, click

to edit the counter details.

On the counter screen, click

to delete the counter details.

7. Click Submit. A confirmation message will be displayed, indicating that the retail plan is created successfully.
